Having taught in person calligraphy workshops for 3 years, reaching more people through an online course has been a dream of mine! In person workshops are invaluable as I’ve learnt so much from where you’re most likely to get stuck in the learning process and understanding why people learn Modern Calligraphy in the first place. Whatever your reason, I hope this course not only teaches you the 'how' but also becomes a soothing retreat from your busy day.
Course FAQ

Yes! You have a slight advantage in fact, due to your arm positioning. If you are left handed I would advise you to start with a straight pen holder and if you are right handed to start off with an oblique pen holder. This is covered in more detail in the course.

In all honesty, it varies from person to person! You may pick it up with ease but it also may take some time for it to ‘click’. Either way, 10 mins a day or an hour a week, scheduling in time to practice will make a huge difference, take photos of your work along the way as that’s the best reference you’ll have of how far you’ve come! Enjoy the process and don’t rush it

Modern calligraphy is not handwriting! It’s a form of art which is created using simple shapes, by repeating these shapes over and over you learn muscle memory, pulling all these shapes together you will then produce some really stunning lettering. You can transfer some of the techniques to your daily handwriting, likewise you can incorporate some of your handwriting style into modern calligraphy.
